William F Spitzer (Bill) 80, of Marlboro, passed away, February 19, 2021 due to complications from COVID
Bill has always been involved in many activities such as an Amvet Ambulance driver, his own Home Security Safety System business, and a Constable to name a few.
After HS graduation Bill served over 3 years in the U.S. Air Force. His duties were primarily in the establishment of the missile program in Okinawa.
He retired from a lifelong career managing and developing TV stations in many major markets along the East Coast.
He enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects both at his own homes and helping his children with theirs. Always creating, improving, and repairing things at home and at the work place.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annette M (Castelluccio) Spitzer of Marlborough; 3 children, Cynthia Kennedy of NJ, Suzette Spitzer of Northborough, Paul Spitzer and his wife Kelly of Marlborough: 7 grandchildren, Shaun, Zachary, Christopher, Alexandra, Abigail, Charlie, Brady, and 1 great grandson, Crew; 2 sisters, Alice McCrae of NE, Janet Spitzer of NJ; a brother, Leonard Spitzer also of NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Irene Spitzer and 3 brothers, Richard Spitzer, Arthur Spitzer and Fredrick Spitzer Jr, his twin.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 4-6pm in the Short and Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street Marlborough, MA.
A burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA with Military Honors.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to the Salvation Army, his favorite charity.
