Norma Jean (Panten) Cronos, 74 of Marlborough died at Marlborough Hospital on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
She was born in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Nelson and Alice (Bowers) Panten and was the youngest of three children.
She was a devoted mother, and homemaker, over the years worked part time as a cake decorator, and an art teacher at a nursing home.
She had lived in Marlborough for the past 47 years.
She leaves behind two brothers Robert Panten of Pittsboro, NC and David Panten of Greer, SC. She also leaves her daughter Carolyn Alexander of Marlborough MA, her son John Cronos of Grafton, MA, her son David Cronos of Little Ferry NJ, her ex-husband Bill Cronos and 6 grandchildren.
She was strong in her Christian faith and was inspirational to others. She enjoyed being a member of Metro church in Marlborough.
She loved animals and appreciated the conservation work of the Bronx Zoo. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was an avid reader and learner and would fervently research any subject that interested her. She loved the water and was swimmer and water skier as a teen. She enjoyed walks in the woods and could identify tracks from lots of woodland creatures. She was extremely intelligent and humble. She had a smile that lit up the room and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her well. The family will hold a private memorial/ celebration of life in the spring.
