Nancy M. (Funderburk) Alley

Nancy M. Alley 87 of Marlborough passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026 at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough, MA, after a brief time in the hospital.

Nancy was born in Clinton, MA the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Egan) Funderburk. She graduated from Marlborough High School. She first worked as a Telephone Operator for AT&T, then at Digital Equipment; eventually becoming head of their Telecommunications Department. After retirement, she spent 3 months in Egypt supervising improvements in Egypt’s telephone system.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Lawrence “Larry” Alley, her daughter from a previous marriage to Frank Eagan Jr., Margaret “Peg” Egan of SD, step-son David Alley and his wife Sarika of FL, step- daughter Sue Fiorelli of Delaware, 7 grandchildren, Martha, Dayle, Sopia, Samantha, Marisa, Alexis and Acadia, a sister, Martha Hubley of Westborough as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Margaret McCandlish and Arrena Funderburk; 3 brothers, Thomas, George and Henry Funderburk.

Nancy was known by many for the beautiful dahlias she grew and loved to give away to brighten someone’s day. She taught little children in Sunday School when she was younger and was active in her church until her death. Her friends knew she was always available in a time of their needs. She was active in the Marlborough Garden Club, and the Rhode Island Dahlia Society.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Faith Community Church, 146 East Main St., Hopkinton MA, at 2:00 pm.

Burial will be held at a later date in Ceder Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton, MA.
