Marie Ellen (Hartley) LeDuc

Marie Ellen (Hartley) LeDuc 77 of Marlborough, died at her home on Sunday, October 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late John and Rose (Marino) Hartley. She attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Marlborough High School, Class of ’64 and then attended Leo’s Beauty School in Worcester, graduating in 1965.

She married the love of her life, Robert H. LeDuc on April 16, 1966, her husband of 57 years.

Marie worked at Francis Trim ‘n Style in Hudson before starting her own business, Marie’s Beauty Nook. She then started working for Assabet Valley Regional High School in the cafeteria in 1983, finally retiring in 2016 as a hall monitor and custodial staff.

She was inducted into Assabet Valley’s Hall of Achievement in 2017

Marie is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” H. LeDuc, 2 daughters, Laurie Barnes and her husband Steven of Marlborough, Lisa LeDuc-Creamer and her husband Charles of Rindge, NH, a son Robert K. LeDuc and his partner, Melissa Dervishian of Leominster, 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Julia, Rilley, Alexis, Kassidy and Kelsey, a sister, Kathy B. Hureau and her husband Richard, a brother, Richard F. Hartley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, birds, crafts, especially crocheting and fidgets. She also loved the ocean.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.

A Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28, at 10 am in St. Mathias Parish, Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St.
