Marie N (Marini) Carlson

Marie N. Carlson, 90, of Marlborough, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in the North End of Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Santo and Frances (Silvestri) Marini.  She would often reminisce of growing up in her neighborhood filled with cousins and aunts and uncles.
As a young woman Marie enjoyed working for The Boston Globe, a job she held until starting her family.  She later resumed her career working as an administrative assistant for Digital Equipment Corporation, a position she loved until retiring in 1992.
Marie was predeceased in 2013 by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard D. Carlson.  After raising their family, together they spent many years traveling and enjoying their home on Cape Cod.  They could often be seen watching sunsets together at the beach.
Marie is survived by her 2 children, Heidi Serven and her husband Thomas of S. Dennis and Dana Carlson of Marlborough.  She adored her 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Parrish and her husband Russ, Victoria Holder and her husband Aaron, Kelsey Carlson and her partner Jon West and Avery Serven.  She also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 2 wonderful and doting brothers, Anthony and Thomas Marini.
A private service will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
