Winter Haven, FL – John N. Sandini, 95 of Winter Haven Fl, and formerly of Marlborough, was called to our Lord at his home on Friday, July 23, 2021 while surrounded by his wife and children.
John was born in Marlborough, MA, the son of the late Benedetto and Pulcheria (Eqizi) Sandini. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and 3 of his brothers served in the armed forces at that time as well. His brother Alfred who went MIA after being shot down over French Indochina was recovered and laid to rest 2 years ago and this brought John much closure. Before retiring he was employed by the City of Marlborough as Business Manager for the Marlborough School Department.
John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Thomas) Manty of FL; 3 sons, Chris Sandini of Upton, MA, Frank Sandini and his wife Patricia of SC, Daniel Sandini of FL; a daughter, Rachelle Dargie of NC; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 2 stepdaughters, Bonnie Giovaninni and her husband Fred of MA, Donna Lizalde and her husband Pedro of FL; 9 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by 1 sister and 5 brothers.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in the family lot in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
