George Saravanos

     George Saravanos, 78, died Tuesday evening December 29, 2020 after a period of failing health.  He was the husband of the late Grigoria (Moustafa) Saravanos who died in 2013.  They were married for 47 years.  He was born in Athens Greece, the son of the late Nicholas and Panagiota Saravanos, and has lived in Framingham for the past many years.

     Mr. Saravanos worked as a tile setter for many years and was a member of Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlborough.  Mr. Saravanos loved cooking, mostly Greek food, but loved all of the Mediterranean spices and enjoyed good wine.  George loved music, mostly Greek music and he enjoyed reading. He was always teaching his family something new.

     He is survived by a daughter Voula Zlatkos and her husband Kyriakos of Framingham, a son Peter Saravanos of Framingham, a brother Haralambos Saravanos of Greece, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

     His funeral will be held on Friday January 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central St. Marlborough.  Burial will follow in Edgell Grove cemetery in Framingham.  Visiting hours will take place on Friday morning at Saints Anargyroi from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral.
