Donald "Don" C. McElman

Donald C. McElman 92 of Marlborough passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Don was born in Boston, MA, the son of the late Charles E. and Mabel V. (Miller) McElman. He graduated from Watertown High School and served his Country in the United States Army National Guard where he spent 21 years. 

He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Barbara L. McElman, in October, 2024. 

Don is survived by his 2 sons, Douglas G. McElman and his wife Nancy of Marlborough, David C. McElman of Framingham, his granddaughter, Kaylee and his grandson Justin and his wife Emily, 5 great grandchildren, Bella, Paisley, Jack, Kennedy and Ace as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

He was also predeceased by his son, Stephen McElman in 1990, his brother, Wilfred, and his wife Florence McElman and sister, Rosemary Perkins. 

He always looked forward to going to Florida with his Wife Barbara, they looked forward to the warm weather and All the friends they had down at Nettles Island, Jensen Beach Fl. 

Don had been a Mason for over 45 years. United Brethren Lodge A.F. & A. M. Marlboro. 

He also was involved with Cubs Scouts and Boys Scouts for Many Years. 

Don was Very involved with Marlboro sports, especially Baseball and Basketball, He was one of the Founding Fathers of the MYBA, He Always Believed that Every child deserved to play baseball, He volunteered his time on Saturday mornings Refereeing/Teaching the children of the Marlboro Boy’s Club the fundamentals of basketball. 

He always looked forward to going to The Big Apple for breakfast on Saturday mornings with his nephew Scott. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 5-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 24, at 11 am in First Church in Marlborough, Congregational, 37 High St., Marlborough, MA 

Following cremation, a private burial will be held at a later date.
