Carole Ann (Grace) Cormier

Carole A.(Grace) Cormier 78 of Marlborough died peacefully at home on Friday, October 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.

Carole was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Hector J. Cormier, who passed in June of 2023.

She was born in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Vivian A. (LaCoss) Grace.

Carole graduated from Algonquin Regional High School, and also returned to school, later in life, and earned her college degree.

She was employed by New England Electric, her entire career, where she made and forged many lifelong friendships there. 

 In addition, Carole happily retired with Hector in Sarasota Florida, where she remained active enjoying her time with family and friends. Carole took great enjoyment in various social engagements, clubs, games, golf, shopping, and much more.

Carole is survived by her children Robert Cormier and his wife Shelley of Marlborough, Linda Eldridge and her husband Wesley, of Spencer, Steven Cormier of Worcester, Lisa Martin and her husband Donald, of Mendon, Suzanne Reiffarth, of Millville, 9 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren, her brother, Kevin Grace and his wife Kathleen of Dracut and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three children, Bonnie, Michael, David, Cormier and her sister Adele Downing.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:30 am in St. Matthew Parish, 26 Highland St. Southborough, MA followed by burial in Rural Cemetery, Southborough, MA.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carole’s name to UMass Cancer Care Center.
