On December 7, 2020, Carol Mello beloved mother of three children, passed away at the age of 84. Carol was born on November 9th, 1936 to John and Marion Connor and lived and spent the majority of her life as member of community of Southborough. She met and married David Mello in 1966 and the two raised three children. Carol was a lifelong collector of Royal Family memorabilia and a voracious reader. In her early years, Carol joined American Airlines as a stewardess and was so proud of her work and the friends she made through all of her adventures. Carol was a devout member of St. Marks Church for her whole life. She taught Sunday School and was a staple at Pot Luck dinners and other church events over the years. Carol loved to be informed and did so through her enormous collection of books. Conversations with Carol often began with “I’ve just read the most wonderful book”. Carol was active throughout her life and spent many years working at Digital Equipment Corporation, Capasso Farms and Mauro’s Market in Southborough. Her favorite part of working was the people she worked with and the many customers she met and built relationships with over the years. She talked about all of them as if they were part of her family, because that was who she was. Carol was a compassionate and loving person and tried to live her life by those principles.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, John and mother, Marion and is survived by her three children, Holly, Timothy, Andrew and her three grandchildren, Justin, Anderson, and Anara. A Celebration of life ceremony will take place on June 19th at 10 am at Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd. in Southborough, Massachusetts. The family has chosen to not have a public reception. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Marks Church or to Direct Relief and the Coronavirus Pandemic Response.
